Dental tourism, as part of health tourism, represents a journey outside the home country for the purpose of providing dental health services. The most common reason to go to another country is cheaper services. The Republic of Croatia is a tourism country with a good offer of dental services and has great potential for further development of dental tourism primarily thanks to the vicinity of large markets. Furthermore, Croatia is a country rich in natural beauty and a favorable climate. Croatia is a safe country, with long tradition and good reputation as far as health services are concerned.
By examining the results of the questionnaire produced in order to obtain an objective insight into the development of dental tourism, it was concluded that dental doctors, just like patients, are satisfied with the services provided when it comes to dental health. Doctors are educated, experienced and track the development of the technology that their patients from abroad recognize, recommend to their friends and relatives and return for other dental interventions.
With long-term work in the field of dental tourism, we have come to the conclusion that there is a need for a service that would easily and directly attract potential foreign patients to Polyclinics in Croatia.
